Two Secret Weapons (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the AxeWatch mobile application (the “Service”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

1. Data Collection and Usage

AxeWatch is designed with a “Privacy-First” architecture.

  • Local Device Data: The app communicates directly with your Bitaxe mining hardware via your local area network (LAN). Data such as hashrate, temperature, and pool settings are fetched from your hardware and displayed within the app.
  • Storage: This data is stored locally on your mobile device.
  • No Transmission: Your miner data is never transmitted to Two Secret Weapons or any third-party servers. We do not have access to your hashrate, your wallet addresses, or your hardware configurations.
  • No Personal Information: We do not require account creation, email registration, or any personal identifying information (PII) to use the Service.

2. Permissions and Background Monitoring

To provide the core functionality of the app, the following permissions are required:

  • Local Network Access: Required to discover and communicate with Bitaxe miners on your Wi-Fi/LAN.
  • Foreground Service (DATA_SYNC): Used to maintain a stable connection with your hardware for real-time monitoring. This allows the app to provide critical thermal alerts and “Zombie Node” notifications even when the app is in the background.
  • Notifications: Used to alert you of hardware issues (e.g., overheating or connection loss). These notifications are generated locally on your device.

3. Third-Party Services

We use standard platform services for app distribution and monetization:

  • Google Play Store / Apple App Store: These platforms manage app installation and In-App Purchases (IAP). They may collect data as governed by their respective privacy policies.
  • No Analytics/Tracking: We do not use third-party tracking, advertising IDs, or analytics frameworks (such as Firebase Analytics or Mixpanel).

4. Data Security

Because your data remains on your local network and your physical device, the security of your information relies primarily on the security of your home network. We recommend using strong Wi-Fi passwords and keeping your Bitaxe firmware (AxeOS) updated.

5. Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the “effective date” at the top.
